Introducing: Content Kit!

Content Kit is a free Figma component library for folks who write microcopy — track content status, reading levels, and team progress all in one card.

👋 I just published Content Kit on Figma — it’s a tool I built for folks who write microcopy.

It’s a card component you can use as a library in your org. Add a card next to each screen to help keep track of the content status at the screen level.

This type of card is extra nice when you’re working on experiences with lots of screens. When you zoom out, you can easily see how much work you need to do and where you need to do it. It makes a big difference when you’re working on experiences with 40, 50, 60 screens at a time.

Bonus! Since Figma has library analytics, you can use components like this — specifically, the “reading level” section — to approximate your progress towards your goals that can be hard to quantify otherwise.

For instance, when I worked for DocuSign, we were trying to reduce the reading levels of our microcopy for our audience. So I created the reading level section for our cards. Then, I’d occasionally check the library analytics to get a general idea of how much of my work was contributing towards the team goal. It’s a lil scrappy and it’s not perfect, but I’m into it.

Anyway, try it out. Make it your own. Show me how you make it work for you. And if you’ve got your own lil Figma tricks and tools like this, lmk. I like that stuff. 🤓
